In 1998, writer of Fortean Times, Paul Harris came forward with a ‘commonsensical’ explanation for the Green Children and he suggested that the children came from a Flemish settler family.

The children could’ve been lost due to anti-Flemish laws that had been passed in 1145 and their unusual attire could be attributed to Flemish weaving and dying techniques that were known to produce strange clothing.

In terms of their green skin, Harris suggested that Chlorosis or green sickness could’ve been behind their abnormal complexion.
