13. Were They Feral Children?
Feral children have been an interesting phenomenon and have contributed a lot to developmental studies. Essentially, they are children that have grown with little to no human contact and have no experience with human care, behavior, and communication.
They are associated with wilderness, but their ‘feral’ behavior develops in isolation, not merely in the wild.
A popular example is ‘the Child of Europe’ whose name was Kaspar Hauser; a German youth who was raised in complete isolation, and like The Green Children had a limited palate but he did speak native German and didn’t have a questionable appearance.
