16. Wilhelm Souchon (1864-1946)

Souchon, a German admiral, fired the first naval shots of World War I in October 1914, and subsequently revealed the Ottoman Empire’s entry into the war. He was the admiral in command of the Mediterranean Squadron of the German navy.
