7. Her Mother Knew They Were Doomed
With the Romanovs being under house arrest and growing political turmoil, the Tsarina knew that the safety of her family was under threat. So, right before their supposed escape, she asked all of her daughters to sew expensive jewelry and gems into their clothes. This way, in case they made a quick escape, this would’ve helped them survive.
Sadly, this preparation only made the execution worse for the children. This is because the sewed in jewels apparently made the bullets ricochet off them, further prolonging their misery. *shudder*.
