6. How Sharon Elliott Met John D’Anna
One fateful day in 1988, Sharon rang the small suburban newspaper, The Mesa Tribune where she got into contact with John D’Anna who was a 28-year-old assistant city editor at the time.
She told him about her story as the “Hatbox baby” and his first response to the case was his ambition “To be the guy who solved it“. However, D’Anna soon changed his view on the case and felt inspired by Sharon’s determination to know where she came from.
