As D’Anna’s investigations began in 1988, he recalls his greatest challenge to be the lack of technology at the time. DNA had just begun to be admissible in courts, but for forensic purposes.
Discovering one’s ancestry through DNA was still an underdeveloped idea, which slowed down the progress of the case.
As time passed and DNA technology made progress, D’Anna made all the appointments and tracked down the right people, eventually leading to Sharon taking a DNA test which sadly produced close to no matches.
