A startling announcement on October 28, 2004, shook the world. It was about the discovery of the Homo floresiensis.
It was a never-known-before species of little humanlike creature. This quasi-human species stood about 3.6 feet tall, and later became famous by the nickname “Hobbit.”
The discovery shocked and made many people go into a denial mode, who ended up interpreting the hominin as a pathological modern human, a microcephalic dwarf.
Nonetheless, those claims had no substance in them, and the Homo floresiensis was indeed an entirely new species.
