Phorusrhacidae or “terrorbirds” were found over 2 million years ago in South and North America. There couldn’t be a more accurate way to call them than associating them with terror.
Simply put, these birds were over 10-feet tall and were carnivorous flightless birds.
Terror birds were known to have beaks so sharp and powerful that they would pounce upon their prey and strike them with their beaks. This blunt trauma caused the prey’s skull to crack open in no time.
