Prehistoric Animals That We Are Glad Went Extinct

Thalattoarchon Saurophagis

#19 Thalattoarchon Saurophagis

The Thalattoarchon Saurophagis is yet another terrifying sea animal that existed almost 244 million years ago. This bus-sized creature was a minimum of 28 feet long and ate animals of its size or smaller.

Researchers observed this mammoth creature’s fossil and concluded that its sharp, well-set teeth and jaws were powerful enough to shred the largest of sea animals to bits.

This 9-meter long beast was bulky and strong and could have easily fought head-on with other sea animals.

The literal translation of its name being, “the lizard-eating sovereign of the sea”, it was nothing short of spine-chilling and ferocious.
