The Screaming Mummy

6. The Screaming Mummy

Back in 1886, Gaston Maspero, a French Egyptologist found a mummy in a very strange position. The reason for that was that he was not properly mummified. The mummy was later identified to be of Prince Pentawere, who murdered his own father and then killed himself after he was put on trial.

The most mysterious part about this mummy was his mouth. The terrifying corpse’s mouth was unhinged and appeared to be screaming. Researchers still don’t know whether he died screaming or was his mouth intentionally molded that way when he was being mummified. Another strange fact about it is that for some reason, the mummification process was not properly done.
