3. Baby Bones Found In Sewer
While exploring one of Israel’s city Ashkelon, archaeologist Ross Voss made a shocking discovery. While researching the city’s sewers beside a Byzantine bathhouse, Voss found hundreds of small bones. At first, he thought that they were animal or chicken bone but after close examination, they found that these were actually bones of infant babies!
They discovered that the bones amounted to a total of more than 100 babies. Further investigation revealed that the babies had no sign of illness and lived merely a week after being born. To this date, it is unclear how or why these babies were killed. Researchers believe that they were intentionally killed and disposed of as the bones were found in the sewers beneath the bathhouse.
