With a man’s head and a Lion’s body, the Sphinx of Giza is a stunning, 73 meters long statue built at the peak of the Egyptian civilization at the Giza plateaued. Some historians say that it was built to guard the temples and tombs of the Giza plateau. Others claim that it represents Ra-Horakhty, the Sun-God in Egyptian mythology. 

While we may never know its true purpose, some historians have also claimed that a network of secret tunnels and passages lay under the Sphinx!
