21. Website Founder’s Service Backfires on Self
When you start your own business, it’s often one’s own friends and family who are the first uses or buyers. The same happened with Gary Kremen, founder of the dating website Match.com. After launching the site, Kremen encouraged all his family members and friends to try the website out.
He even asked his girlfriend to join the website as well, we’re guessing perhaps only for feedback. But as fate would have it, she ended up leaving him eventually, for someone who she met on – wait for it – Match.com. That’s a tough one to endure.
