25. Tarring and Feathering
Tarring and feathering is a form of punishment and public torture that dates back to the American Revolution; it was used to informally prove justice and vengeance.
The punishment was normally carried out by a group on a single victim, the victim would be half-naked and poured with hot wood tar, which would leave the victim immobilized.
Once the victim was doused with the hot lacquer, they would be thrown with feathers or rolled around in a pile of feathers to ensure that they stuck on.
