1. The Breaking Wheel
The breaking wheel is a medieval torture device that was used to execute murderers and robbers. The procedure of being “wheeled “began on a public stage, the accused would be latched onto a large wooden wheel lined with spokes.
Once on the wheel, the victim would be beaten with an iron club; severely injuring their limbs. Sometimes the victim would plead to be killed by the beating, as opposed to the slow death experience while hung on the wheel.
