Nicknamed “The Serpent” for his ability to slip through the hands of the authorities, Charles Sobhraj is one of the most identifiable names in the Interpol’s most-wanted list.
Charles Sobhraj eluded several arrests until Herman Knippenberg – a Dutch embassy diplomat who was in charge of the case of two young missing Dutch travelers – finally gained the upper hand in Sobhraj’s case that led to his arrest. He was charged with at least 12 murders and spent over two decades in Tihar Jail in India.
