There was a beautiful brain behind that pretty face that cameras adored so much. You’re probably as surprised as everyone else was when they learned about Marilyn’s passion for reading and talent at capturing words.
She didn’t just want to write— she needed to. In early private notes, she wrote that she would keep writing “until the great pot in the mind is, though not emptied, relieved.”
She wrote her intimate thoughts in poems and journal entries throughout her career. In 2012, these writings were published in Fragments: Poems, Intimate Notes, Letters.
