#28 Graves of Medieval Slavic Chieftains by a Badger
In August of 2013, the announcement of the discovery of this historically important site was made public.
It is interesting to know that the discovery was made by a badger! Badgers are notorious mammals known for digging. It extracted human bones while digging on a farm near Stolpe in Germany.
The 12th-century burial ground had few Slavic warlords buried underneath. One of the warlords was buried along with a sword and a big bronze bowl kept near his feet. According to the archaeologists, the bowls indicated that the person belonged to the upper segment of the society.
