#6 Ötzi The Iceman
Ötzi, the Iceman, is the oldest mummy of a man who was left buried deep in the ice for around 4000 years. The body of this iceman was found in September 1991 in the Ötztal Alps at the borders of Austria and Italy.
Two German tourists stumbled upon the dead body and reported the authorities. On arrival, the police recovered the body with an arrow stuck in the shoulder. Archeologists identified the man to be Otzi, the Iceman, who lived between 3400 to 3100 BCE. It is on display at the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology in Italy.
