#10 Hoxne Hoard: The Largest Roman Treasure Found
On 16th November 1992, a farmer lost his hammer in a field of Hoxne village, Suffolk, and Eric Lawes, a retired man was helping the farmer with his metal detector to find the hammer. The metal detector threw strong signals and Lawes started digging, only to discover the Largest Hoard of Roman treasure.
The largest hoard of the late Roman treasure was found in Britain. It was said to have over 15,000 valuables in it including coins, artifacts, jewelry, and an assorted arrangement of tableware. All of it is on display in the British Museum in London.
