#13 Terracotta Warriors and Horses
Qin Shi Huang was a great ruler and was the first emperor of China. He was one man who desired to conquer death. In order to achieve immortality, he built an entire underground citadel guarded by life-sized terracotta warriors, horses, infantrymen, chariots, all escorted with armor and weapons, vessels, jade, gold and silver jewelry and what not.
The underground complex was discovered by the farmers in 1974, later it was declared as a museum and a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1987. It is located in three pits in the city of Xi’an near Shaanxi Province of China.
