Back in the ancient days, Romans had quite an absurd take on life. Formed under the reign of Theodosius II and his co-ruler Valentinian III, the Theodosian Code, written circa 438 A.D., forbade the practice of any faith other than Catholicism.

The code forced all churches to submit to Catholicism and stated the death penalty for conversion from Catholicism to any other form of worship.
