Before he became one of our favourite Marvel villains, Jeff Bridges worked for the military for seven long years. His first encounter with military service was during his freshmen year in high school, which he later described as a hateful experience.

At age 18, he was commissioned to serve in the Coast Guard that stretched for seven years. He was primarily required to scrape the paint off of buoys and apply a fresh coat of paint.

Though he barely enjoyed his time with the Coast Guard, he did concede to the fact that his military experience made him disciplined and evolved. He later followed the advice of his father to pursue acting, and his first major breakthrough came at the age 22 when he starred in The Last Picture Show.
