Rod Serling, the man behind creating The Twilight Zone, fought his enemies with guns and grenades before he took on to a different weapon – his pen.

As per archives, Serling was determined to serve the US Army in fighting against the Nazis. However, destiny had some other plans for him. He was sent to fight the Japs in the Philipines as a part of what was known as the “death squad” – the name that got stuck with the platoon due to unusual high fatalities.

Though Serling survived the war, he endured several wounds – both physical and mental – that left him crestfallen. However, he soon found a knack in writing and created some marvellous piece of work on celluloid.
