#20 Love-Struck: Louis III Of France (5 August 882)
Louis III was the King of the West Frankish kingdom who ruled alongside his younger brother Carloman II till his death. Although he died young, aged around 18, the short length of his reign was filled with military successes.
He met his untimely death at Seine-Saint-Denis (which was in the center of his kingdom) whilst tying down his horse that he rode to approach an unknown girl who was running in the direction of her father’s house.
The King struck his crown against the lintel of a stubby door and fell, subsequently rupturing his skull.
