#21 Fatal Error: Philitas Of Cos (C. 270 BC)
Born in 340 BC, Philitas of Cos was a Greek intellectual who was also part of the Alexandrian school of poetry. His colleagues often caricatured his intense approach to his studies, as he was much thinner and frailer.
Being one of the first Greek writers who was both a scholar and poet was a major achievement of his that produced his most notable vocabulary work.
However, his studies on arguments and erroneous word usage became so severe that he wasted away and starved to death when he was just 55 years old.
