#1 Stinger To The Heart: Steve Irwin (4 September 2006)

Steve Irwin, or more affectionately known as, “The Crocodile Hunter” was a globally acclaimed Australian wildlife oracle and television personality.

In his wildlife documentaries, it was very well-noted he often handled and came into contact with dangerous, predatory animals like crocodiles and deadly snakes.

Whilst shooting a program in The Great Barrier Reef, for his daughter’s television, Irwin was pierced in the heart by a startled short-tail stingray, causing him to bleed to death.

The fatal incident was caught on tape but was never aired for public viewing.
