64-year-old John Lewis was a businessman native to Minsterworth, England. In an attempt to ignite a bonfire with petrol, Lewis accidentally set his clothes ablaze.

To try to put out the flame, he then sped to a river where he leapt in and subsequently drowned. Even though the doomed incident took place on 12 April 1999, his corpse was only retrieved on 30 April 1999.
