15. Piri Reis Map
The map was drawn by a well-known Turkish Admiral, Piri Reis, back in 1513 and it depicts Europe, North Africa, the coast of Brazil, along with several other islands.
But also on the map, Piri Reis sketched out a clear depiction of Antarctica, which humans only discovered in the year 1818!
What’s even more startling is that his drawing of Antarctica depicts a topography not covered in ice, while science tells us that Antarctica has been covered in ice for the last 6,000 years!
So even if he managed to sail to the continent, how did he manage to sketch an iceless Antarctica?
