11. King Tut’s Heavenly Dagger

The Pyramids have been a gift to archaeologists for decades now, and have led to some astonishing discoveries.

But one discovery was quite out of the ordinary, even for those familiar with ancient Egypt.

Next to the mummified body of King Tutankhamun, the child Pharoah, historians found a dagger of exceedingly good quality.

Smelted iron was unheard of in Egypt at the time, so it’s strange that this dagger existed at all.

But what’s really surprising is that on further inspection it was found that the blade was made using a meteorite as raw material!
