28. Queen Mary I of England: Bloody Mary
Her nickname has now been immortalized into a heady vodka and tomato juice, but the woman behind this name is quite a dangerous one! Queen Mary I of England was hell-bent on reversing the English Reformation that had started under the reign of her father, Henry VIII.
In her attempts to convert Protestants back to being Catholics, she directly ordered at least 280 to be burned at the stake, and forced another 800 or even more to flee because of her prosecution.
