22. Moll Cutpurse
This one is straight from the history books! Born all the way back in 1584, Mary Firth was an extremely skilled pickpocket, as you may have already guessed by her nickname ‘cutpurse’. She was also a fence, ferrying stolen goods and selling them to make a profit.
She has also been nicknamed ‘The roaring girl’ for her outlandish life, especially for a woman living in the 1600s. Since she lived so long ago, there are very few verifiable facts about her life.
